Our class plant is a Hawaiian Pothos, and his name is Phyll. He is named after chlorophyll. In plant science, chlorophyll is the chemical in the chloroplasts in leaf cells that allow it to convert energy from the sun into its own food.

The plants in my window include avocado plants and bamboo plants. I grew the avocado plants from seeds that I got from eating avocados at home. I don't give these plants names. Sometimes they are sold in classroom auctions throughout the year.
They are nice to look at in the window and give us extra oxygen to breathe. 😊
