My lovely wife and I at a wedding in 2009

I am married to a wonderful woman, Jen, who is a pre-school teacher in a Headstart class. Her passions are social justice, cooking/baking, and kids. She continually teaches me many things on our life-long journey together, and I am very thankful to have her in my life.

My life outside of the classroom is what gives me the passion and skills to teach. A love for reading, writing, and technology motivates me to be a life-long learner. I am also involved in my neighborhood by contributing on a community garden planning committee. I have a heart for the city of Portland and to help it grow in a positive way.

Additionally, I love to play ultimate frisbee with friends and go biking with my wife. In my spare time I enjoy juggling, completing jigsaw puzzles, and designing websites like this one.

And of course I love cheesy jokes: What do you call cheese that isn't yours? Nacho cheese!
